The Draw of Sexual Temptations

This morning I awoke to Pastor Skip Hietzeg on the Radio and he was speaking of sexual sin and how the numbers of marital affairs are equal in the secular world as it is in the Christian arena. I pondered what he was saying and reflected on my past and my temptations currently; I would say I believe that figure 100%.

The devil and all his tactics to lure us are very great. Every were I turn, on billboard’s, commercial’s, walking down the street; all I see is sex or a reference to it. Pastor Skip went on to say that the statistic is almost equal to both man and woman. I have learned in my life that sexual perversion only leads to heartache and destruction of the mind, body and soul. I have also found that nothing good comes from it; it will make you depressed, angry, moody, non-loving, and quick tempered. When you’re living in sexual sin, you are choosing to completely deny the truth of Christ within you. When lust becomes the force of life that causes us to follow its beauty, we then become cheated, for it blinds us from seeing Christ and His beauty. You see, God created sex; He created both man and women to be attracted to one another. Sex pleases the Lord; He wants to bless us with it within the boundaries our marriage. Our problem is that we constantly want more and we allow the world to deceive us in believing that more is better.

God knows that everything He created has a purpose and in its proper context of what he created it for, everything is to worship Him and Him alone and if it does not it then becomes sin. We must recognize that Christ’s beauty and majesty is far more beautiful than anything Satan can offer. The day we chose to serve Christ we chose to bury our independence of ourselves. As Paul said in Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ it is no longer I who live, but Christ’s lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.???

Our sexual mind must come under the control of Christ. We must capture our thoughts shield our eyes and be content to what God has so blessed us with. If we do not sacrifice the flesh and the natural life we live, then the supernatural can never be natural to us. Christ’s beauty is something nobody can describe in words you can only live it in an obedient sacrificial life. Sex is so much better when God is blessing it within in our marriage and he is controlling all aspects of our life.
