We are in the people business!

My thoughts often times escape me when I am not careful to recognize that God is fully in control of all my circumstances. My world as a business owner has a lot of trials and issues that need to be addressed on a daily basis. What I often forget is that my issues and trials are not of my own but that of the Lords. God never said that I am to fix all the daily problems. He tells me to cast all my cares and burdens unto Him for he cares for me (1Peter 5:7) and he will work them out for good to those who are called accordingly. As you see here in (Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.)

We as Christian Business Leaders have a great responsibility to minister to people because of the influence God has given to us. Every day we deal with employees, vendors, customers and family members. Everyday God desires for us to be that representation of Him to them via our words, actions and how we deal with things. 2Corinthians 5:20 states- “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God???. In other words we are to be Holy for He is Holy and love His people as He loves His people. I must be careful to see people in the same way that God sees them and not label or judge His people because of the way they look or how they act.

Being in the people business means that our opportunities as Christian Business Leaders are constant and if our eyes are so focused on temporal things like; how much money we are going to make or how we are going to fix the issue that is before us, than we are failing as people of God, we are failing as His representation.

My daily hearts prayer is that God continues to protect me from trying to make things happen, that I let go of all my worries and stresses and wholly focus only on what God has called me to do. And that is to love His people, it’s to encourage those around me and as 1 Peter 1:16 says “to be Holy for He is Holy???.

That’s it! It’s really simple, but hard, all in the same breath. With God all things are possible! If God be before us nothing can be against us. Let’s choose to see people through Christ’s eyes and recognize that our responsibility is to love and influence those around us as only Christ can. Let’s not let the burdens of the day distract us from our greater responsibility.
